Yearbook Design

These are the pieces to my yearbook cover design. The background, which is the silhouette of Toronto, was taken by me last summer at the Shoppers Drug Mart near Leslie St. I edited the colors in to make it more appealing, i added contrast and brought the brightness up a bit. I copied the same background but flipped it horizontally for the back of the yearbook. The font I used for the school's name and quote is AntiPasto. I like the outcome of this cover, but i think if i had a bit more time i could add a bit more to it.

Yearbook Rough Draft. Work In Progress.

This is my first attempt at creating a yearbook cover design. I wasn't sure which one looked better, so i put them side by side to compare. I think i'm starting to like the one on the left better because it's simpler. I like simplicity a lot. I think the one on the right catches people's eyes because of the colors, but at the same time i think it's a little cramped and messy. Both of these are NOT close to what my final will be, but i just needed an idea of whether the first one is too simple and if the second one is too cluttered.

Apple Logo

I really enjoyed creating thsi logo. I love the colors in it and it was a fun process to create this. I used different steps to create this though, because i finished it before you could tell us how to do it correctly. I used the gradient tool and chose the different colros required to create this. And to shape the apple shape i used the curve tool to shape it. I think i'm getting better and finally understanding how to shape things perfectly, but i definitely have room for more improvement.

BMW Logo

I am not very proud of this logo. I know that it does not look anything like the real thing, but i did it my best effort. In my opinion this was the hardest logo out of all the logos we created. Many steps were needed to create this logo. I had to use the gradient fill tool, quick trim tool and shape tool. The font once again is Arial Black and i'm not sure if that is the right font for the actual logo, but it was the closest that i could find.

CBC Logo

I think this logo was fun to create. The steps to create this weren't hard. A lot of steps to make this were quite repetitive and easy to do. A lot of trimming was required but it was not difficult. The font is Arial Black and it makse the logo very realistic.

Final Adidas Logo

This is one the 4 logos we completed in the class. I learned how to shape a circle into a "football" shape and copy it twice to make it into the shape of the adidas logo. I also added text for the actual word "adidas". I also learned how to make the all rights reserved sign by making a circle and adding an R in the middle. I used quick trimming a lot to make this logo and i like the overall outcome.

Final Watch Design

This is one of the small assignments that our class completed together. In my opinion it was a pretty long process, but quite worth it. I learned how to use the gradient tool to make a shiny metal-like surface. I learned how to curve lines by using the shape tool. I learned how to quick trim and quick merge different shapes. I really like how my watch turned out. Although it isn't ideal, it does resemble the "real-deal". Lastly i learned how to change the node so that i would be able to position the numbers perfectly on the watch.
